Privacy Engineer

Privacy is the foundation of our product. We need a privacy engineer to design and implement systems that protect user data not just in theory but in every real-world deployment scenario — from metadata leakage to traffic analysis to subpoena response.

Responsibilities

• — Design privacy-preserving data pipelines and access control systems
• — Implement metadata minimization — our servers should know as little as possible
• — Build and maintain anonymization and pseudonymization layers
• — Conduct privacy impact assessments for new features
• — Develop and execute privacy threat models
• — Create tooling to verify privacy guarantees in production

Requirements

• — 5+ years in security or privacy engineering
• — Strong understanding of privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) — differential privacy, secure aggregation, anonymous credentials
• — Experience implementing data anonymization at scale
• — Systems programming background (Rust, Go, or C++)
• — Knowledge of relevant privacy regulations (GDPR, CPRA) and their technical implications

Nice to Have

• — Experience with Tor, mix networks, or other anonymity systems
• — Background in information theory or statistics
• — Familiarity with formal privacy definitions
• — Contributions to privacy-focused open-source projects
